Across The Way culture camp camping Gates Open at 12 pm et ET on sunday, July 13, 2025
Camping returns to Culture Camp in 2025 with limited Vehicle and Tent Campsites available at our Across The Way (ATW) Campground. Located at 8669 Falls Road in Trumansburg, NY, our Across The Way Campground (ATW) features a lovely circular layout with a community area in the center of the campground with showers, EMS, security, a dishwashing station, and a community fire pit, picnic and recreation area. ATW is just a short and beautiful 5-10 minute walk across Rt. 96 to Culture Camp, and is conveniently situated directly adjacent to the Shur Save grocery store for all of your needs.
To ensure a smooth transition from Culture Camp to GrassRoots Festival, in order to purchase an ATW campsite for Culture Camp, you must purchase the same site for both GrassRoots Culture Camp July 13-16, 2025 and the GrassRoots Festival July 17-20, 2025. If you will be camping elsewhere for, or not attending, the subsequent GrassRoots Festival please email culturecamp@grassrootsfest.org for a refund request. If your request is granted, you MUST DEPART your campsite no later than 9 AM on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
VEHICLE CAMPING
There is a mix of Regular Vehicle, Premium Vehicle, Large Premium Vehicle, and Oversized Group Camping sites at Across the Way. Only Premium Vehicle and Large Vehicle Campsites in Section D will be available for GrassRoots Culture Camp.
PREMIUM VEHICLE camping
$200 for Culture Camp plus $395 for GrassRoots Festival plus fees
ATW Vehicle Campsites range in dimensions, but all are at least 1250 square feet. ATW Vehicle Sites are big enough for up to two (2) vehicles, and two (2) large tents. An RV will fit on an ATW Premium Vehicle site, and should have a little extra space for a second vehicle and/or additional structures provided that all campsite rules, listed below, are adhered to. These sites are a little larger and/or more preferably located than a regular site.
LARGE PREMIUM VEHICLE CAMPING
$200 for Culture Camp plus $495 for GrassRoots Festival plus fees
These sites are larger than our Premium Vehicle Camping, and are the most accessible from our gravel road, perfect for heavier vehicles. An RV will fit on a Large Premium Vehicle campsite, and have some extra space for a potential second vehicle and/or additional structures provided that all campsite rules, listed below, are adhered to.

VEHICLE campSITE RULES:
Sites may not be combined in any way in order to create a larger site.
You MUST maintain TEN (10) FEET of separation distance between structures on your site and structures on neighboring sites, but no separation distance needs to be maintained between structures on your site provided all structures on your site have emergency access. This means that you are required to keep five (5) feet of open space between the end of structures on your site and the painted border line between neighboring sites. You will need to work with your neighbors so all campsites are in compliance.
The term “Structures” includes, but is not limited to, tents, vehicles, pop-ups, tarps, tapestries, etc., including fencing.
All structures must maintain emergency access, so please don’t crowd, and keep the openings to your structures accessible!
Sites must not infringe on roadways and pathways - keep all access roads clear.
Only Portable Camping Stoves with a ONE (1) LB secured fuel tank are allowed on a Regular Vehicle Campsite or larger site. ALL UNSECURED PROPANE TANKS LARGER THAN 1 LB will be confiscated by festival security and removed from the premises. All tanks greater than 1 LB must be securely mounted to an RV or tow behind vehicle.
No campers will be allowed to store flammable or volatile liquids other than approved propane tanks at their site.
NO OPEN FLAMES OF ANY SORT ARE ALLOWED (excluding approved portable camping stoves). This includes, but is not limited, to campfires, tiki torches, charcoal grills and stoves, candles, etc.
No liquid fuel tanks of any type are allowed.
No propane lanterns are allowed.
No charcoal stoves are allowed.
If you plan on using a one (1) LB Portable Camping Stove, we suggest you come equipped with your own fire extinguisher.
No indoor furniture is allowed on any campsite.
No generators are allowed except for the designated generators allowed area at the Across the Way campground (see Frequently Asked Questions below).
These rules will be strictly enforced in accordance with NYS Health Department regulations. Campsites that are found to not be in compliance with ALL of the campsite regulations listed above must come into compliance within one (1) hour of notification, or their belongings will be removed and held by ATW Camp Rangers.
TENT CAMPING
At Across The Way we offer Woods Tent Camping for Culture Camp in our Woods Camping 3, which is in full shade all day as it is fairly densely wooded.
TENT CAMPING IN THE WOODS
$95 for Culture Camp plus $235 for GrassRoots Festival plus fees
Woods Camping tent sites are 20’x20’ or 400 square feet. These sites are big enough for one large tent or one small tent and a small pop-up shade tent. Attendees with large tents that do not allow for the five (5) feet of separation distance to be maintained between structures as described in the Rules section below will be moved to overflow sites at the Across the Way Campground.

You MUST maintain FIVE (5) FEET of separation distance between your structures and structures on neighboring sites, but no separation distance needs to be maintained between structures on your site provided that all structures on your site have emergency access. This means that you are required to keep two and a half (2.5) feet of open space between the end of structures on your site and the painted border line between neighboring sites. You will need to work with your neighbors so all campsites are in compliance.
The term “Structures” includes tents, pop-ups, tarps, tapestries, etc., including fencing.

VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE TENT CAMPING AREAS. There is a large parking area at our Across the Way Campground at 8669 Falls Rd. where those planning on tent camping will be within walking distance of your vehicles. There is also a shuttle from Across the Way to the Fairgrounds that operates during posted hours.
These rules will be strictly enforced in accordance with NYS Health Department regulations. Campsites that are found to not be in compliance with ALL of the campsite regulations listed above must come into compliance within one (1) hour of notification, or their belongings will be removed and held by ATW Camp Rangers.
